In my opinion, Q+AL now is a 'different animal' to the band as they were in 2012. I also didn't take to Adam's screechy vocals at first, but in recent years his voice has matured and improved. The performance that caught my attention was Who Wants To Live Forever at the Isle of Wight festival: Without wishing to compare, this is a pretty powerful and faultless vocal performance that Freddie would have been proud of. As for the comment "Adam needs Brian & Roger a lot more than the other way around", I don't really see why the point is being made. Clearly Adam knows he's on to a good thing, but I don't know of another vocalist who could handle all the Queen songs as well as he does, and with the opportunity they've been given, why shouldn't Brian and Roger continue the legacy? Now, whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, this thread is for discussion of the current US tour. Please can we not turn this into yet another "Queen isn't Queen without Freddie..." type debate, as things are only likely to get unpleasant, and it really has all been said before. Thanks. 🙂 Perhaps these complaints could be put into a new topic, since these complaints have nothing to do with the current tour ... that is if these stray comments eventually prove to be too troublesome ... No. These complaints are just as stale if not more vile at times than they were in the Q+PR days. Many of us are sick and tired of this whiny bullshit. Please don’t encourage them to continue by making even more complaint threads.

Thank you dragonkiller my big day is Thursday 2nd November the big 60 ! Don't know what to spend my birthday money on. I have just upgraded my Marantz Amp & CD player to the 6007 models. If only there was a "Queen2" box set or "Night At The Opera" box set or better still a " Live Killers" box set. Pure fantasy of course I will be 6 feet under before any of those are available .That naughty Brian & Roger are to busy these days !

I‘m probably a bit late, but I just noticed, that QAL isn’t playing their usual arena in Los Angeles. They‘re playing 2x in a stadium with about 22.000 seats. 😳

What do you think about this year’s version of Tie Your Mother Down? I‘m not too fond of that blues infused first verse and chorus, but I guess it fits for a US tour.

Spent Friday night in St.Paul/Minneapolis in the opera box on Roger's hi-hat side. Was that ever a wonderful night to remember! The crowd was amazing! When tickets went on sale, someone on these boards wasn't convinced from 2019 experience that the opera box price-tag-to-value ratio was a great value. I'm glad I took the chance and bought anyway! It was worth every penny for me! I'm glad Roger and Brian are doing this - to be able to sell out arenas at this age is an opportunity they simply can't pass up. Full support. They seem so happy! I can't imagine there will be much more tours after this - both men seemed absolutely exhausted after the show. FUN RUMOUR MILL FUEL: Filled up with gas Thursday morning to head stateside for the show. It cost me $19.84 CDN to top up my tank. WORKS BOX SET... CONFIRMED!

Not Keen on the new version of "TYMD" that "Q&AL" tried out on their US Tour. At least they are trying something different which is good to see.

Oh well it's the first time I have heard it. Just imagine if "Brian" & "Roger" ripped up the heavily based "Greatest Hits" setlist and you could have anything you wanted for one night. You would be like a kid in sweet shop ! Any good setlists folks ??

I actually think the current setlist is fine for what they're doing, which is basically a (majority) crowd pleaser for what might be the last time. But, you've given me an idea for a new thread: queenchat.boards.net/thread/4774/dream-queen-setlist

The two Minnesota shows were phenomenal. They’ve really tightened up since Baltimore. Funny thing happened on the first night when the trap door didn’t lower Adam at the end of WWTLF. He stood there staring up at the spotlight then spun around with a bit of a wtf gesture. He ended the song with a bow on the second night. I would never have guessed that something went wrong if I hadn’t seen the show before.
Looking forward to Chicago tonight!

As a (former) drummer, I flipped at the chance to sit this close to Roger - a dream come true.
Apologies for not recording the whole song... I tried to enjoy the show with my eyes and not looking at a little screen to make sure I was capturing it for posterity, so I didn't record much.

I really have to get something off my chest and I know that I am going to get some stick ,but I think as a member of this site I am allowed a voice. I have kept very quiet on this site for quite a long time as I know how most of you all enjoy Queen & AL . I myself don't like Adam Lambert, I don't think he brings anything to the Queen legacy. I have seen him front the band twice the first time at the Hammersmith Apollo on the 11th July 2012 and the second time on the UK leg of the 2012 tour. The first show was the better of the two but all his shouty /screaming vocal delivery was hard on the ears . The second time at Birmingham Arena I felt a bit embarrassed by his high camp performance and myself and my partner left quite early and missed all the traffic. This is something I would have never ever done when Queen were John, Freddie, Brian & Roger. We were not the only one's who were leaving early on that evening. I am not going to drone on but one point is Adam needs Brian & Roger a lot more than the other way around. Adam has sold 3 million albums world wide and 5 million singles. Hardly a massive solo career is it ? My interest in Queen with Adam is very low, I don't even watch videos put up online and would have no interest in any ideas of them recording together. I won't go into the last live album "Around The World" as it was poor from the bits I heard. Brian can do what he wants with the Queen legacy but I feel it is damaging a once great band. For those who enjoy what is going around I say good luck to you . Adam Lambert is a different singer to Freddie and never tries to be Freddie. If you don't like him, then fair enough that is your opinion. I personally don't mind his versions but they are not Freddie. With regard to Adam being camp, Freddie could be EXTREMELY camp on his day

This video is from last night’s concert in Chicago. It was Halloween, so Adam put on a wig for the encore. It’s great to see Roger’s and Brian’s grins, when they see him. The video also includes Freddie’s Ayohs.
But is it just me or does the audience isn’t into the clapping for We Will Rock You? They really look lame to me.

It was a very interesting Halloween show last night! Brian ditched his usual mirrorball pajamas for the BoRhap solo and showed up in this instead (credits: leppardfania) And this was the drum head for the set in B stage (tho I don't know if this was just last night or if it's been on for a while) (credits: TLOTV)

Brian looked cool in his Frank mask. I wonder, if he could see anything with it on? Here is a picture of Adam with his wig. With that hair he looks a bit like a cross between Bowie and Freddie in the early 70s. source:@alalwayz on Instagram

Mask aside, I don't think we've seen that look from Brian since his 1998 Another World tour? And that bass drum skin definitely wasn't used in Toronto!

That's a great voice Not sure if I'm being made fun of here? lol Knowing this is probably the last time I'd see my musical heroes, I sang throughout the entire show. There was a kind woman who travelled from Japan, decked out in a 2019 VIP jacket (obviously hardcore) right in front of me. She probably filmed the entire show - I feel bad that she probably picked up more of my bellowing than Adams singing!

I love that you caught it in this specific moment! He's amazing ❤ It was on my list of a few Roger moments I wanted to capture, having the opportunity to sit so close and have a clear view of the bass drum pedal, etc! He is so amazing! It's crazy how much Brian and Roger have slowed down, yet are still quality players. Poor Brian had to sit for parts of the show!

He did say on Instagram that he's been fighting a cold... there aren't many opportunities for him to sit down (other than Roger's solo maybe?), did you remember when he had time?

That lines up with what I saw on Friday nigh - Roger DEFINITELY had a cold, blew his nose once or twice, and seemed under the weather. Just checking the vids I did manage to take and posted this (stupidly short) one: So, watching this after the fact, it looks like Brian wasn't quite using a chair, but something to lean against. So I should walk that comment back. And I noticed it BEFORE he was lifted up over the screen, and by that point, I was so entranced in the performance, I didn't clue in how useful it would be to have that high up!

I noticed he was leaning on that thing too during the solos at MSG... I assumed it was to make sure he didn't fall off backwards more than anything (I know if I went up there I'd want something like that...) I love how the solo is sort of "outer spacey", especially the second night at MSG the first half of it was almost peaceful, like you were floating out in space or something. A bit long, but what else should we expect from dear Brian. I have to say, I'm half these guys' age and I can't imagine doing what they do night after night, let alone while fighting a cold. Brian also mentioned on IG (I'm paraphrasing) something about how he made a plea for peace or something onstage the other night... wondering what he said?

^^ Brian is always leaning on that thing for the solo. I already saw that in 2018. He’s also strapped to it for security reasons. After all he’s standing on that small moving platform and playing about 5 meters up in the air!

Yeah, I suspect the folks that provide insurance coverage wouldn’t allow Brian to be that high up without safety precautions. Many other musicians also use similar safety devices these days as well, probably for similar reasons.

The way you phrased the “Ohhhhh” kind of reminded me of Phil Collins’ phrasing on his elongated Oh’s, actually.
