^^ Brian is always leaning on that thing for the solo. I already saw that in 2018. He’s also strapped to it for security reasons. After all he’s standing on that small moving platform and playing about 5 meters up in the air! Yeah, I suspect the folks that provide insurance coverage wouldn’t allow Brian to be that high up without safety precautions. Many other musicians also use similar safety devices these days as well, probably for similar reasons. Considering he took a tumble on the QPR tour into the shaft where Paul’s piano came up from the stage I’m sure he’s taking all the precautions he can—and that was 15 years ago, when he was a spring chicken at the age of 61!

i'd say that even though I don't like AL as a "Queen fit" (yes, he's got a great voice, but it ain't to my taste - I didn't like PR for entirely different reasons) - plenty of folk hold the opposite view and that's all that matters to the band. I can think of a few singers that would have been a better fit - but it ain't my choice is it?
14 years together now (if we count the 2009 performance) - this is almost as long as Queen had Freddie up front. Kudos to Roger and Brian for keeping the band profile in the music fan/ gig-goer's collective consciousness.
I respect them for continuing to do what they love. More power to them!

I was being dead serious actually I play in a band, so I’ve got an ear for that. The way you phrased the “Ohhhhh” kind of reminded me of Phil Collins’ phrasing on his elongated Oh’s, actually. WELL then! Would love to hear your music, inuliger - DM, or direct me to a link!

Having just watched the clip from "Queen & AL " from "Chicago" on 31/10/23 , I have never seen such a lack of crowd involvement during "We Will Rock You" going into a brief bit of " Machines" into "Radio Ga Ga." Hardly any hand claps for "WWRY" or "Ga Ga" and when Adam came on with his wig on you could hear a little bit of embarrassed laughter going around. I am sorry to me it all looked a bit like a band going through the motions .

I agree that there wasn’t much clapping during WWRY at all. I already noticed that in a video from New York. I even watched a video from London last year to co pare and see, if my memories were wrong. But no. I even checked several European shows and every time you could see most arms in the air. A very different reaction. To me it looks like a lot of the audience members in the USA aren’t fans, but are there for entertainment, chats and drinks.

It just didn't look good really did it ? I would rather Brian & Roger be remembered for when they were in their prime and they were a band that were respected and the excitement before a show was unbearable. I know that they have always presented their shows brilliantly ,with great light shows and Pyro, but it seems that they are really relaying on the stage show to present their shows these days as they are obviously feeling the strain of performing these shows. American crowds I know can be a little hard to get involved in concert's where as in Japan for example fans get really into the show and are very excitable.

I am attending the Denver show tonight and have a ticket with a VIP party included. Does anyone know when that starts? I didn’t get any information about that.

QAL sells out (nearly) every big arena, sometimes twice. They’re absolutely respected in the business and media. Actually even more than in the past, because Queen have become legendary. The exitement I see on social media is as high as it can get. I understand it, that you don’t like the collaboration, so it’s somehow natural that your reception of everything is negative. But that’s not Brian and Roger’s fault. It’s also not their fault that some US Americans are too lazy to clap. If you watch closely you will also see, that many people are filming. Well, if they’re filming, they can’t clap. But they must like it, otherwise they wouldn’t care to film. 😉 The rest of the world seems more into the interaction. I‘ve seen them 4x last year in London, Berlin and Munich. Every arena was packed. Every time everyone as far as I could see was clapping (well a few we’re filming too) and on their feet at least for the encore - the floor was always standing for the whole time (unlike most European arenas Berlin and Munich had a seated floor 🙄). It has been a complete triumph.

I was at two of these shows and I completely disagree with you. These guys have been playing the US for years, they know what to expect, and at this age they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't really want to.

I sometimes feel that any slight negative comment about "Q&AL" is jumped upon straight away or even removed from the site. I am going to "Montreux" next year to see Freddie's statue , I think it will be a very spiritual experience . I loved Freddie very much & I had the pleasure of once meeting him and talking for around fifteen minutes. He was so nice and put me at ease and was interested in what I had done in my life and my family. He was very generous with his time and at some point I will discus this further.

snakecharmer I envy you so much. I have to say that for me statue was a bit... disappointing. It just looks so much bigger in all the documentaries and on the photos BUT the walk itself around the lake and being aware that Freddie used to look at the very same landscape that I was looking at and that he could find peace from the press there moved me deeply. If you turn your back to all the city and look at the lake and the distant shore then it's like a balm for one's soul. As for QAL... no one can do the thing as Freddie did. It is impossible. Not even close. Not Adam, not anyone. Adam has some kind of a leggiero tenor voice ; he reaches higher notes than Freddie, nothing else. Many good singers can pull this off, but his timbre, or colour of the voice is not my cup of tea. It has to be said though that he is a very good singer. Very good. With good chops. But unfortunately no one can do it like the way Freddie did. Who have replaced Beethoven or Mozart or Bach, their talent, music mindset and the way they were perceiving music? It is impossible. On the other hand, big, big kudos to Brian and Roger for trying to keep the Queen flame alive. I am truly grateful that they're doing it. I understand it.

Ri - I don't think it was. snakecharmer - if you're going to post negative comments in a thread discussing the current Q+AL tour, simply because it's not to your personal liking that Brian and Roger are continuing live performances with Adam, then I think it's reasonable that you should expect some defensive responses, as, with respect, it can sometimes come across as sour grapes. No one can bring Freddie back, but that doesn't mean the other band members shouldn't continue if they wish to. I think we should be thankful that they're fit and well enough, and have found Adam as the vehicle to do so. As for moving posts, we split your comments relating to Paul Rodgers into a separate thread, as they were out of context with the current Q+AL US Tour thread, and this produced another reasonably well populated discussion. Your comment about set-lists also prompted another enjoyable thread, so I really don't think you've been unfairly treated.

Hi Lord Fickle thanks for your answer I am just having a off day ,my Mother died recently ,I am 60 years of age and I struggle with mental health problems and I am very much house bound these days and have daily Carer's who look after me. It is hard for me sometimes accept the changes that Queen have undertaken. As a boy I got my very first copy of Queen 1 for Christmas 1973 when I was ten years old. I played that LP to death and over the years I collected each new release with great excitement . When Freddie Mercury died on the 24th November 1991 I was devastated and went into a bout of depression which I have struggled with ever since. I don't know very much about "Queen & Adams" current tour of North America , only what I see on these pages. I am glad that a lot of you are enjoying the shows and I am sure that it is a very good show. What happens when this tour comes to an end I am not sure. Are they going to take the "Rhapsody" tour to Japan ? Just a final thought I like many of you have been bitterly disappointed by the lack of box sets and a "Anthology" which I don't think will be released in my life time now. What a shame !

Just saw the Denver show. I had an excellent seat and Queen + Adam Lambert band are playing better than ever. It spectacular, both from a visual and musical perspective. This is Champions League of rock people. Adam Lambert is an attraction in itself. He is ballsy, self secure, funny, VERY gay, naughty and he has the pipes. He is voice is nearly too good to be true. He seems so effortlessly reaching incredible heights during Pressure, WWTLF, WATC etc. Incredible. And then Brian and Roger, they are on fire and performing really well. I must say that particularly Brian looked a bit tired but no wonder looking what energy they put into the show. Make no mistake that he is doing this on autopilot. He is the perfectionist as always. I got early entry to the venue and caught him soundchecking approximately 2 hours before showtime where he was going through the smallest details and even making pictures of the stage with his phone. He cares so much about it. He played small bits of Is This The World We Created as wel: See the link : youtu.be/86g8heBbdkQ?si=SS-MYAy16GQ6ugot

Thanks for your honestly. Life can bring many challenges to us all. With regards Japan, yes, I believe Q+AL will be touring the country in 2024, but there are currently no further known plans after that. Hopefully, when they do decide to call it a day, they will do a run of shows in the UK, bringing it back to where it all started. As for an "Anthology", we all live in hope, but that's something for another thread.

I had the VIP package and had early entry access. Upon entry the crew there said : “do not go through the curtains into the hall”. I just couldn’t resist because I heard sounds. I expected the crew testing out something but to my surprise it was Brian sitting there and I started recording. Unfortunately he didn’t play anything groundbreaking but it’s interesting to see what happens behind the screens and how much of a detailed oriented man he is.

I saw them in LA in 2019 but had third tier seats and the experience is a whole new level when you are close to them. It was just amazing. So happy I did it. The videos are a memory of this incredible show and love the fact that others enjoy them too. Have been watching them myself all day 😁. I think the best moment is when Brian fucks up the intro of ITTWWC but gently disguises his mistake, but Adam notices it and smiles to him. I don’t think the majority of people noticed anything. They are just true professionals.

Sorry, but the above WeTransfer links have been removed. The rule is, if it's taken down from YouTube for copyrights infringement then it can't be shared directly on here.
After the tour they might not be so strict so you can try uploading it again then. 🙂
