The album cover for Queen II has been updated on spotify, it's now less cropped, more blue and the text is further from the band's faces. Old:  New Spotify ver:  Maybe this means a new release, maybe not, since this isn't the first time but interesting nonetheless I swear I’ve seen the new cover used somewhere before? Ok so if you use the wayback machine and look at the old listing for the Queen II Studio Collection LP on the store you get this cover (you have to click on the question mark as the photo doesn’t load otherwise) web.archive.org/web/20170704020958/http://www.queenonlinestore.com/Queen/Queen-Studio-Collection/Queen-II-Studio-Collection/4O030EH90NC But if you look on the current store right now they have a new cover for the studio collection LP. So does that mean Queen is using an older cover on Spotify? |

They aren't an exact match, if you resize and overlay the two you can see that the old studio collection image is slightly brighter and slightly less blue, so I'd imagine they're using a touched up version like with the Q1 image |

that's what I was going for  A detail I picked up, not one the first, but on the second viewing was the choice of artist name for it. Adam Lambert + Queen It was funny! I say all this knowing immediately the date to which this was posted on, but I love the little details that people put into such things. Good job! cheers, i tend to use AL+Queen in that order on my previous mock-ups too. It kind of adds to the gag. I believe that all the changes that occur with covers in streaming service have nothing behind them that, alas, will not happen no matter how much we want. It's definitely something to consider, especially with the fact that -40th Anniversary of Queen II -Greg Brooks specifically said a QI/QII boxset was something they had in mind (though, he's said a lot of things) -In Queen II's case, it's a COMPLETE overhaul of the Queen II album cover, not just a new scan -John Anthony accidentally leaked that Roger said they were making a Queen I remix (I know for sure this happened, I saw it before it was taken down) I have a strong feeling that something is going on. There's WAY more farfetched theories in this thread than this one, believe me lol |

I already acknowledged that Greg isn't the most reliable source in the very quote you replied to. 2. He said that in 2022, in the YouTube video that I sent as my source. Definitely recent enough to be relevant. I'm not saying "GET HYPED EVERYONE!!!! YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS WILL COME TRUE AND QUEEN I/II REMIXES ARE ABSOLUTELY COMING OUT TOMORROW!!!!", but I do feel that there is enough evidence to warrant discussion and this thread is literally for discussing rumoured releases. I've been VERY specific in how I've been wording my replies, to make it absolutely clear that nothing that I say is definitive evidence, but it's MY personal conclusion when gathering all this, like: I understand the cynicism against Queen Productions. I'm not naive enough to think that they're thinking of us hardcore fans and not the average consumer, but I don't think that warrants shutting down ANY speculation. |

I'm merely offering my view/opinion. A difference of opinion is not "attempting to shut down speculation." Weird that you should think that. All views are valid - no matter how much our own view may differ. All i asked was that folk consider the reality in terms of what we actually know: I'm not preventing folk being optimistic - no matter how blind. I'm just pointing out that anything that contains the word "Greg" and "Brooks" is usually completely unworthy of the oxygen used to post it. there are two key elements to consider before unnecessarily raising others' hopes: 1. Greg Brooks is the Caretaker/Curator of the Queen Archive He would pop up infrequently (apparently for his own amusement) on the old Queenzone forum His visits were usually for one of three purposes: 1. To get QZ fans to do all his research for him for his new "error-strewn" tome or 2. To prick-tease about some non-existent prospective new release/boxset/anthology etc, or 3. To "verify" the content of the QPL archives This last one was always a source of amusement to QZ members as a typical GB "disclosure" would entail his denial of dozens of things fans knew existed and confirmation of what amounted to nothing more than the bleedin' obvious. |

Some of this discussion seems to be centred around a post that was spotted on John Anthony's Facebook page, which has now been removed. Personally, I wouldn't have even known who John Anthony was, let alone have visited his Facebook page at the exact time the post was online. Such a coincidence would certainly prompt me to buy some lottery tickets that weekend!
We also have certain implications from Greg Brooks in the mix, and I think we all know how reliable those can be. Didn't some speculation on his part spark a Miracle Box Set discussion thread on QZ & QOL which lasted about five years before the actual release materialised?
My own view is that we do kind of need to manage expectations when it comes to unsubstantiated rumours and speculation. It's fine to have discussions, but let's not get our hopes up too soon. 🙂

One QZoner even quoted him as late as 16.08.2020 Mi****e. 16.08.2020 10:53 It is not nonsense because Greg Brooks was talking about "The Miracle box set" on social media 3 months ago his words were "we gotta be patient and something will happen later on at the end of the year" (it's worth loading up on salt supplies when noting the source of this quote) but it clearly wasn't "already complete" - Your Know You Belong To Me, Water and Face It Alone have all been worked on. Dog With a Bone appears much "cleaner" than all previously-leaked - as well as some edits?. The bottom line (for me) is: Despite already knowing this, if GB said the sky was blue and grass was green, I'd feel compelled to double-check it. |
