So... there are a couple interesting tidbits they share about a new song (with or without Adam? Two different songs?) they've been recording together and Brian (and John?) seemingly not involved with "Under Pressure" towards its completion. It lines up with those rumors about Brian not getting on well with Bowie. Come to think of it, UP doesn't feature a guitar solo...
No real talk of archival releases. That Imperial College tape may or may not see the light of day. Whatever.
Other than that, nice interviews with some interesting stories.

It's been several weeks since I've been on here so hello everyone again! This is the latest Classic Rock issue with the Queen feature if anyone wants to read: Link removedSorry to poop the party but I don't think you can post a link to an entire copyrighted publication for free download, especially while it's still in the shops! I will check with the other forum staff, and will let you know if you can repost the link. Welcome back. 😁 Fair enough, I should've realised - one of my duh moments!! I enjoyed reading about the bickering, Brian and Roger both confirmed they were the two who fell out the most. It's also nice to see some mention of The Prophet's Song. It's a shame Roger didn't say which albums he preferred to A Night At The Opera...

I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong, as I can't bear the album, so I've not heard it for decades, but there isn't any real guitar action on any of the other tracks either, is there? In that way, UP fits in with the rest of the album. I'm now thinking about Put Out The Fire, but can't be arsed to play it.

Okay, woke up to some bad news: all that we got for the Innuendo anniversary was an animated album cover..
If they just ignored the 30th anniversary of Innuendo just like that, we can expect just about nothing for the 50th anniversary of the band.

Classic Rock magazine has a story about hoe one of their very earliest gigs (1971) was discovered. Brian talks about it and kind of teases the idea of releasing it.

What do you guys think will be regarded as the exact day John joined the band? The official site queenonline.com states it as the 1st of March, and the first Queen gig was the 2nd of June that year. Do you even think they'll release anything? Knebworth 45 would be great, Innuendo 30 has already been left aside, ADATR 45 probably not, GH 40 just a picture disc I suppose. Knebworth seems to be the most probable, but still sounds way too good to be true. QPL sucks...

The Queen Official YouTube channel just put out a trailer for this new project. The description from the video is thus:
'This trailer is an introduction to a celebration of key moments in Queen’s history From March 19, 2021 and for the next year we will take Queen fans on a unique and remarkable journey - a chance to revisit some of the band’s most iconic moments and discover some aspects of the story you might not know. Presented in chronological order, the series will take you from Queen’s earliest shows at London’s Rainbow and Odeon through vast arenas across the entire world on a journey culminating with the band’s latest record setting achievements with Adam Lambert. Along with spectacular concert footage, sound checks, backstage and rare after-show access we get to explore the stories behind the songs, hits and album tracks, drawn from the extensive footage that exists in the official archive while also uncovering and sharing rare and previously unseen gems.'
Thoughts on what we're getting here? From the footage, it seems to be all stuff we've seen before. Not holding out much hope, with the current state of QPL, but it's an interesting thing, and will introduce more fans to the legacy of the band, which is always nice.

Here's hoping they will soon begin to show actually unseen / unheard goodies. This is the year to deliver.

What's that black and white footage at 00:19 from? Going to hazard a guess and say it might be a NOTW '77 America tour shot? Considering Freddie seems to have the shorter cut hair, and either his silver or his red leotard. Might be completely wrong, though.

The first thing I hear when I open the video is a isolated vocal that sounds like it was done with cheap software. If that's an indication of anything, then Queen is really on pace to outdo Led Zeppelin for the most underwhelming 50th anniversary.

Wathcing that trailer makes you realise there'll be lots of unseen footage because that trailer is full of unseen footage....
Oh wait, I've seen this all before...
Let's hope the actual episode WILL feature unseen footage. Would have been nice if the trailer had a couple unseen seconds!

I won't worry about missing the odd episode as no doubt it will come out on DVD / Bluray.

[Thoughts on what we're getting here? From the footage, it seems to be all stuff we've seen before. Not holding out much hope... same old tosh and Queen Bloatware. with regards to "hope" - you do right. Here's hoping they will soon begin to show actually unseen / unheard goodies. This is the year to deliver. i think you already know the answer to this one The first thing I hear when I open the video is a isolated vocal that sounds like it was done with cheap software. If that's an indication of anything, then Queen is really on pace to outdo Led Zeppelin for the most underwhelming 50th anniversary. 'cept Zep are midway though a huge video project currently - a 2½hr documentary with lots of unseen stuff (albeit 3 years too late). FOOTNOTE: i find it incredibly difficult to become enthused about Queen's 50th - when QPL themselves have hardly shown the anniversary the remotest of acknowledgments.

I think that might be from the WWRY fast version on the BBC-sessions. Since it's the isolated vocal QP apparently have the multitracks in their possession. Interesting.....

The press release sounds like "we're putting magic years on YouTube in as piecemeal a way as possible"
Seriously, when the Rainbow is "their earliest gig", I'm half way out already....

Is this real life? QPL will release unseen material? I'l believe it if I see it QPL will CLAIM to release unseen material, and then the experts will point out that they have in fact re-released the Radio Ga Ga video... luckily that won't matter, because 3 dozen websites and four newspapers will already have passed on the press release as "news", thus securing the brand boost desired.

Pretty sure all they have is the stereo mixes of those.
Don't the BBC own those recordings? Has anyone ever confirmed that they still exist?
