At the end of the day this shit they're releasing just does not interest me. Buying anything for being 'rare' or for being 'worth more' in the future is not my thing now as I am getting older and won't be around to reap the benefits.
We know there's shit in their archives. Whether it's good or bad, or has a bum note or an off harmony I don't give a f**k! THIS would be the shit that interests me!
The leak a few years ago of 18 minidisks of Radiohead out takes and demo songs from a period of 1 album in the bands career created HUGE interest, so much so that the band ended up officially releasing it for a short amount of time and putting the money towards charity (though I fucken hate Extinction Rebellion). Fans of Radiohead loved it. Even the crappy little things on the disks. To hear songs develop etc from different recordings is the sort of things true fans love. Queen should of paid attention to it. They know people want to hear shit whether it's good or bad.

Apparently it will also be VERY expensive. On the SHF they're talking about 600+ pounds. I hope that's some kind of super deluxe edition with art and stuff and that there'll also be a "just audio with a book" version. Fingers crossed for a 5.1 mix! yep, but i suspect a re-mortgage may be necessary to fund a copy as for 5.1 - that would be incredible. there has been a Quad version around for some time. wonder what "new" items there can be to add over and above the 30th anniversary set? I'm betting the main attraction will be the "de-Spectorized" mix that George had wanted to do before he died. Alongside that, maybe the entire "Beware of ABCKO" session will be officially released, like when the Esher demoes came out with the Deluxe Edition of the White Album. There's gonna be outtakes for sure (wonder if they'll include that take of Art of Dying with Phil Collins in it)

Talking about artists and bands who do deliver great content and boxsets makes me instantly feel alot better. Talking about Queen releases makes me sad and angry. Jimi Hendrix fan here. Virtually everything in the studio vaults, and then some, has been released. At this point I don't think anyone expects anything worthwhile to surface, as the latest releases are genuine barrel-scraping exercises. Live recordings are pretty much what's left. Then again, it also helps that the artist has been gone for half a century, as posthumous releases have happened quite frequently and many are very significant: two big boxsets, several albums with dozens of new & properly mixed songs, many important live gigs, an official bootleg brand featuring even more studio, home and live recordings, pre-Experience stuff, etc.

I don’t own a cassette player anymore, why would I? QPL seems to have great faith in the return of cassettes: also Rogers new record 'Outsider' can be bought on cassette... LOL Everytime you think QPL has hit the bottom, they come up with even more crap and crazy ideas...

Eh the cassette reemergence doesn’t bother me. It’s just another format. If it was a cassette exclusive that would be another story…
(On the other hand, cassette format being the “big” selling point for the GH reissue is another issue…)

Absolutely, I hope it's about BTTL reissue. I'm really looking forward to that and crossing fingers that there's a couple of extras on there we haven't had previously on B-sides etc. Also interested to see (hear) what Brian has been meaning by re-visiting the tracks - you think this means EQ? my guess is probably just a few tweaks to make it sound consistent throughout. I don't think it's a bad sounding album, but some of the tracks sounded a little flat compared to others.
My fear is that he will overdub new stuff to old unreleased tracks. I'd rather hear the original stuff as how it was recorded back then. Or even worse, he adds a second disc called "2021 Versions" for the whole album with ie newly recorded guitar and drums. I guess that would sound nice for a first listen, but I'd rather have archive stuff.

This release plan is really really sad. Queen plus AL Live, BM solo Album re-issue, RT solo Album re-issue, GHI re-issue...what the f...? Who says they have a plan?

Can't see him adding a second disc of 2021 versions. For a start, he's not going to want to replace Cozy Powell's drums, and secondly it would be way too much of an effort to re-record stuff unnecessarily. In fact, I hope he replaces the 'Ford' version of DBY with the Cozy version as that would sound more consistent with the album, and then he could use the original version as a bonus track with all the other bits and pieces from the Ford ads. There's already a thread about the BTTL reissue, so maybe this should be continued here: queenchat.boards.net/thread/1447/back-light-reissue

Please don't kill me, but I quite like the 4 cassettes with the 4 different covers, or 5 if you also count the 'regular' cassette cover.
Off course, I really want new and more interesting stuff, but for now, an ok addition to my collection...

If i´m not wrong...Milton Keynes DVD was released 17 years ago in June... Well that was the very last time i purchased a Queen item...
Re-re-releases like this will help to increase the amount of years not buying a single item from them. I´ll do it again with interesting items appear...Well this means...Never, according with last years....

For me that was the last release that really excited me, aside from the Raw sessions disc on the NOTW boxset.

No I didn´t...
I´ve got enough live shows in EX quality. I don´t need every single show available. Just a few ones from 1973 to 1986 is OK. About the RAW CD. Too expensive box for a single CD.
My problem came the the Paul Rodgers and next stuff released...Too much rubbish items and no Antologies so i got tired to wait. QPL lost a client.

The day he scrubs out Cozy Powell's drumming is the day Brian has finally lost it.

It's an absolutely indispensable purchase for any serious Queen fan.

Well, I´m afraid I WAS a serious Queen fan... If that show had been released in 2005/6/7 i´m sure would be in my collection. 2014 was late for me, very tired of QPL.

It's interesting, because I think Milton Keynes was the last thing I bought too, and by the time something interesting like Rainbow was released I had just lost interest. I streamed it, but never went out and bought it. Honestly, that was going to change last year with the Miracle box set – I was actually looking forward to it, and was ready to buy it, but now that it's canceled my enthusiasm has waned once again.

Same! Think it can look nice when displayed properly on a shelf. And that is probably the only reason why I like them

Same here...The Miracle is my favourite album and i was pissed when it was cancelled. Anyway that will be the first Queen product that i´ll buy if they release a decent thing...For sure

I'm not looking to beat on you, I just don't understand the appeal of 4 cassettes of the same content. Even when I was a semi-ravenous collector, I would have baulked at this, so it would be useful to see the other point of view.

I skipped out on Hammersmith because there was one new song from soundcheck. Same goes for the 2011 remasters, with only 1-2 interesting new tracks per disc at most - not nearly enough to justify the coin.
